I’ve been invited to an RAF Christmas party in Windsor. It’s fair to say I’m majorly excited.

The theme is ‘To Russia With Love’ which gives me an excuse to buy a new, pretty dress and impress all of the other half’s mates.

Or at least try to.

Rejection, rejection, rejection.

I’ve been back home for two days, and this is how I’ve been greeted. Before I left for London, I must have applied for about 10 billion jobs around these parts, hoping for the best. I even went to a few interviews.

Not one positive outcome so far. All I want is a full time job, hell, I don’t even care what the job is, as long as it pays. Is that so much to ask for?

“Unfortunately on this occasion you have not been successful in your application.”

So, I’m disappearing to RAF Northolt for a few days to see the other half.

It’s actually refreshing to be with someone who genuinely wants me around and gets excited when I visit, rather than barely notice whether I’m there or not. It’s still kind of a surprise to me how well things are going already, and also how quickly things are moving along. Time flies when you’re having fun, so they say. Past experiences has made me one of these people who, when things are going well, adopt a sort of ‘too good to be true’ attitude, and I start thinking what could start going wrong. Then again, the more time I spend with him recently, the better I feel about what’s in store for us. Hopefully, this weekend will help with all that.

Plus, if I’m down on the base, my love for military men can be fueled once again. Yum.
